La Ceiba Hotels
La Ceiba the fourth largest city in Honduras, located on the northern coast of Honduras began as a dock under a Ceiba tree and evolved into a important seaport for the export of bananas and pineapples. Pico Bonito on the "Nombre de Dios" mountain range provides a dramatic back drop for the city known as the place where Hondurans go to play. The “International Grand Carnival of La Ceiba" in honor of the city's patron saint San Isidro, is held during the week leading up to the third Saturday in May. Then on Saturday afternoon the festival presents a big parade with elaborate floats along Avenue San Isidro, the city's main street, and partying continues through the night.
